Hi! I’m Kelly.
Thanks for dropping by.

A little about me

Growing up, I scribbled down poems and songs and filled page after page in my journal. Writing was how I made sense of myself and the world. Somehow, it never occurred to me that maybe that meant something. Didn’t everyone write?

What I did know was I had a passion for making the world a better place, so I set off to Northeastern University to major in Human Services. After graduation, I worked for a non-profit lung health organization for nearly 13 years managing fundraising, special events, and volunteers, and grew into a vice president of philanthropy role.

But something funny happened along the way—my daughter was born. This life change had me writing more than ever. With time, it became clear that writing and mothering were my highest purpose. So I got to work.

I switched to a part-time non-profit position and eventually earned my graduate degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).

I enjoyed SNHU so much that I got a job there supporting online faculty for nearly four years by day and writing by night.

That brings me here, to you now. I have never felt more ready to serve you.

A few fun facts

  • I live in southern New Hampshire and grew up in a nearby town with five apple orchards. I even got engaged in an apple tree at one of them. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and have one beautiful daughter.

  • When I’m not writing for others, I’m writing creatively—crafting essays, reflections, songs, and other works about family, New England living, and growing deeper in courage.

  • I believe a bad day can turn around with the help of a cup of tea, a good laugh, and a little encouragement. If it’s a real doozy, I’ll watch Pride & Prejudice for good measure (the Keira Knightley version).

  • When daydreaming, I’m picturing any of the following: reading a book in an English countryside cottage, dancing to hip-hop in pink high tops, or living in a tiny home next to a river with a water wheel.

“I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means. ”
